No waste project
This project has been developed in response to the ever growing ‘population of trash’, visible all around the city of Glasgow. Despite all efforts from City Council and private sector, visitors and locals keep throwing waste. There are certain more visible zones regularly maintained but in more ‘neglected’ areas, like for example in the river Clyde banks, the trash has made ‘colonies of their own’, ‘coexisting’ in a sort of tragic lifecycle with the animals and plants, creating a ‘new ironic habitat’.
Beyond a point of potentially ‘infertile critique’ this project proposes a way to engage with this issue, artistically! Through this NO WASTE proposed method of 5 steps, one can not only quickly produce a series of drawings but ultimately contribute to a cleaner city, one trash at a time. NO WASTE is an artistic process leaving no waste behind, through sustainable use and re-use of all materials involved in the creation of the drawings.
